If you are pregnant after a loss, firstly, congratulations. We know first hand how being pregnant again is a rollercoaster, with hope, fear, joy, grief, courage and anxiety all existing at different times, and sometimes all at once.

We have designed these resources so that you can help manage anxieties, feel more hopeful about bringing your rainbow baby home and feel more reassured and prepared in planning for your birth.

Pregnancy after loss can cause so many mixed emotions. What is completely normal is to experience a high state of anxiety, and highly anxious moments such as attending scans. After all the worst thing that could happen did, and it is normal for the anxiety to make you think it could happen again.

You may feel that you dare not tempt fate by being happy. It can feel like everything is making you feel anxious. You may feel that you are unable to relax because you are constantly worried about the baby moving/focussing on what you are or are not eating/worrying that your partner is ok. The timing of the pregnancy will more than likely feel increasingly anxious and sad when key anniversaries and dates come up.

It is natural to feel this way. It is ok to feel this way. It is ok to be happy and anxious at the same time. It is also exhausting to feel this way.

The worst thing that could have happened to you already has and you are terrified that it could happen again. Or even if you feel positive and more hopeful, you may face constant reminders that ‘trigger’ you into feeling more anxious. On top of that you are missing and grieving your baby who died.

That is a lot to deal with. We know that however many times you are reassured by health professionals that you just cannot shake that horrid little whisper in your ear that something will go wrong.

The reality is that this will be a tense time. You will get stressed and feel anxious.

However…

We have created practical resources to help you manage your anxiety during your pregnancy, birth and to believe you will welcome your rainbow baby home. We will give you the tools to help quieten that whisper so that you feel hopeful, positive, grounded and reassured.

This course was designed by our Founder Tara, a babyloss mum herself who retrained as an accredited antenatal educator and hypnobirthing instructor. This course is also led by midwife Meghan Roe, who has over 15 years midwifery experience, and has previously been a bereavement midwife, who has also supported lots of parents pregnant after loss. Tara actually met Meghan when she was a bereavement midwife straight after the loss of Tara’s first child. Together with Mars Lord, who is a triple award winning doula and birth activist, this free course will help you feel more informed and confident during your rainbow pregnancy, birth and beyond.
